On March 16, I posted a note explaining why Liberal senators had allowed the Budget Implementation Bill to pass despite grave concerns about the non stimulus portions of the bill.
I was shocked to learn the day before yesterday - two weeks after passage of the budget bill - that the official government budget website stated that the Senate had not passed the bill. This false statement, in my view, was a breach of privilege against me and every other senator. Yesterday afternoon I raised this issue in the Senate. Only today did the government correct its website. This kind if careless, if not malicious, behaviour is unworthy of any government and deserves to be condemned.
