Hon. Robert W. Peterson:

Honourable senators, in my home province of Saskatchewan and across the prairies, farmers are facing the worst spring seeding conditions in history. The situation is urgent. About 30 per cent of the crop remains unseeded, and what is in the ground is being flooded out.

My question is for the Leader of the Government in the Senate. Will the government commit to offer a quick, generous response to the crisis in Saskatchewan?
