Statement made on 25 March 2011 by Senator Mobina Jaffer

Hon. Mobina S. B. Jaffer:

Honourable senators, my question is directed to the Leader of the Government in the Senate. The government's citizenship booklet advises new immigrants that in our country we do not accept honour killings, female genital mutilation or forced marriage. I am happy that we are stressing our values.

What resources is the government setting aside to ensure that the women who suffer in our country are given help?
