Statement made on 26 November 2008 by Senator Lise Bacon (retired)

Hon. Lise Bacon:

One of the solutions offered by the government to stimulate the Canadian economy is to expedite investment in infrastructure projects. In order to see the impact of these projects in the coming months, the government must give priority to existing projects that are currently waiting for the green light.

My question is this: Will the government commit to informing the promoters whose projects have been selected, such as the Building Canada program, as soon as possible, to allow housing starts beginning in the spring of 2009?
