Statement made on 23 June 2009 by Senator Jane Cordy

Hon. Jane Cordy:

The government's lack of commitment to the wind energy industry is putting Canadian jobs and environmental obligations at risk. The Minister of Natural Resources, Lisa Raitt, admitted in testimony given at an April parliamentary committee meeting that money will run out a year and a half earlier than anticipated. In fact, it will run out this fall.

When will this government step up and ensure ongoing support to the Canadian wind energy industry?
