Hon. George J. Furey:

Honourable senators, my question is for the Leader of the Government in the Senate. I begin by apologizing to the minister that I have not had an opportunity to submit my question in writing, which I would have preferred to do, but I have only just cobbled it together.

Can the minister tell the chamber what power the Minister of Health has under the existing Hazardous Products Act to take immediate action to deal with any products that pose a significant risk to the health and safety of all Canadians?
