Statement made on 15 April 2010 by Senator Maria Chaput
Hon. Maria Chaput:
Honourable senators, my question is for the Leader of the Government in the Senate and concerns broadband Internet access. In Manitoba, rural municipalities do not always have access to broadband Internet. Several of them got together at least three years ago and submitted an application for funding to the federal government, complete with a strategic plan and an action plan, to obtain the necessary funding to have access to broadband Internet.
Could the Leader of the Government in the Senate find out exactly where the application made by these Manitoban municipalities stands?
