Statement made on 02 June 2010 by Senator Maria Chaput
Hon. Maria Chaput:
Honourable senators, my question is for the Leader of the Government in the Senate. According to Graham Fraser, the Commissioner of Official Languages, francophone and anglophone soldiers still do not have equal access to instruction in their own language. It is crucial that the minister responsible for the Canadian Armed Forces show some leadership and commitment in order to address this discrepancy.
Can the Leader of the Government in the Senate suggest to the minister responsible for the Armed Forces that he act on all 20 recommendations made by Mr. Fraser?
