Senator Catherine S. Callbeck was the first woman in Canada to be elected as Premier and was named as one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women in 2006. Appointed to the Senate on September 23, 1997, she represents the province of Prince Edward Island.

	The Hon. Sharon Carstairs, P.C., B.A., M.A.T For Senator Sharon Carstairs politics is something that was learned at the dinner table in a family that put an emphasis on education and political dialogue. When Prime Minister Jean Chrétien appointed Senator Carstairs Leader of the Government in the Senate January 9, 2001, it was the beginning of another path in politics. She served as Leader until December 12, 2003.
	The Hon. Maria Chaput Consultant, manager, assistant director, executive director, author and volunteer are some of the roles and responsibilities occupied by Senator Maria Chaput in the course of her career. Appointed December 12, 2002, she is the first Franco-Manitoban woman to sit in the Senate.
	The Hon. Rod A. A. Zimmer, C.M. With a long and distinguished career in business and philanthropy, Senator Rod Zimmer is one of Winnipeg's most recognized community leaders. Senator Zimmer was appointed to the Senate by the Rt. Honourable Paul Martin in August of 2005.
