I feel very strongly that our Naval Arm of our Armed Forces should return to the name that shows the proud history of that Arm, historically (WWI, WWII, Korea) up to and including the highly successful, professional and proudful work done in the Middle East in very recent years.
There is probably no arm of any Armed Forces that wears its Badge of Honour so proudly as the Navy. It is probably the only Arm where a "crew" (team) works together for the benefit and success of the ship (a personality in itself).
The name "Royal Canadian Navy" hearkens back to major world conflicts where the Navy served with such distinction, helped the Nation become a Power amongst other Nations of the World, and tandem work with the Royal Navy warmed the Pride in the Service in such close work with a 'big brother' service of the U.K.
No other Arm of the Service carries such a Pride.
I think that our Navy deserves the restoration of its "badge", and it's affiliation with the Royal Family gives a history and sense of belonging that predates the Service itself.
I feel very strongly about this. I doubt if I am alone.
Thank you for your attention.
